Well, folks, this is the BIG ONE!! Iโve shared some flickering of design ideas or #BTS sneak peeks on Instagram, but now you get the whole shebang!! Our kitchen design has evolved a lot over the last few months – but the one thing that has always held true is the inclusion of powder blue cabinets. Last summer, Alex and I attended a wedding on The English Countryside and stayed at a darling cottage that had powder blue kitchen cabinets. I became a woman obsessed. You know when something SO GOOD comes your way that you didnโt know you needed but now canโt live without? The cabinets were THAT THING!!
This kitchen will have a European twist – and will feature a STUNNING white and brass range that comes all the way from Italy. In addition to the range, weโre upgrading all of the other appliances as well. The fridge and dishwasher will be stainless steel – yes you can mix metals! The hardware and faucet will be a matte black finish, which weโre really excited about. It will really POP against the powder blue of the cabinets. One fixture weโre really excited about is the pot filler. It was on our โmust haveโ list – and hopefully between that and the range, we will be encouraged to cook! The backsplash will be a continuation of the countertops, for a seamless look. In case you havenโt picked up on this theme yet, weโre keeping the original hardwood floors that were hidden under gross laminate tile.
As you can see from the drawings, the kitchen is STOCKED when it comes to cabinets. We were working with a very long space – and while we wouldโve loved to fit in a breakfast table, there wasnโt really any room for one. Weโre excited to have so much surface space, as our previous kitchen was seriously lacking in that department. We already have a photoshoot scheduled for this space, so time is ticking!! Weโll be revealing this room in October – be sure to follow all of the progress on Instagram until the big day!!
