Pretty Lively Penthouse Loft by Michelle Gage Interiors

All In On Color

Pantone recently announced their pick for the 2021 color of the year – and to put it simply – our predications were totally off! Just another reminder that 2020 isn’t over just yet, folks.

Pantone surprised the design world by selecting two colors: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating. Simple and classic, this straightforward pairing of yellow and gray is meant to symbolize “a marriage of color conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.”

Soft yellow wallpaper decorated in a gorgeous blue pattern provide the perfect backdrop for this bespoke, glamorous and feminine bedroom. By Michelle Gage.

We regularly feature cheery, warm yellow hues as accents throughout our projects and love how it compliments our eclectic, whimsical aesthetic. There’s always an opportunity for a pop of yellow!

Being that we do skew more colorful and a bit bolder here at Michelle Gage Interiors, we prefer to incorporate grays into our designs in the way one would utilize a neutral color palette. It provides the perfect balance to a highly styled and eclectic room, as seen in our Forever Home. Don’t miss the yellow accent pillow on the living room daybed or the yellow fruit in the butler’s pantry wallpaper.

As for Benjamin Moore’s 2021 pick, Aegean Blue – a gorgeous green-blue – is right up our alley! This hue looks great everywhere. We particularly love it in a high gloss finish for cabinetry and built-ins, but it works just as well in a plush velvet, a vintage patina and beyond.
