It’s that time of year again! This April marked another bi-annual trip to High Point Market in North Carolina. Over two and a half days, we made our way through 25+ showrooms to explore all the beautiful lighting, rugs, upholstery, case goods, art and décor our special vendors have to offer.
This year, it appeared that everyone was expanding their outdoor lines and dipping their toes into hospitality design. We also found amazing game sets, shocking colors in case goods, incredible artwork and lots of sea-inspired decor items. We brought home lots of fabric and rug samples to add to our sample library in Chestnut Hill.
Many of the upholstery shapes we see can have any fabric applied to them. So we are intentional about testing out the comfort level of each item while in the showrooms, and then we pair it with the perfect fabric back in our studio.
Our mission at market is to touch and test every piece that catches our eye. It’s important that we understand the quality of the furnishings we select for our clients, so you will catch us opening dresser drawers, spinning in swivel chairs and plopping down on sofas.
Since we can’t take clients with us to the showrooms, we bring the showrooms to Chestnut Hill!
In our studio, we have a sofa from our favorite vendor – and many cushion options, so you can pick your preference. Want something firmer? Squishy? We’ve got you covered, Goldielocks.
Our studio has it all! You can touch the rattan of a bookcase or open the drawers of a burl dresser. You can see how a wool rug or marble tabletop wears over time – and how an unlacquered brass faucet will develop a patina.
