All About That Brass – Part 1

HEY HEY, PARTY PEOPLE, TODAY IS A BIG DAY!! We have been bursting with excitement to share this latest reveal with you. There is so much to talk about that we’re breaking it up into two posts. Without further ado, let us introduce you to the home we dubbed All About That Brass!

Perspective clients often ask us how we determine which projects are the right fit for our firm. Well, frankly, there are a lot of deciding factors – but this decision was crystal clear. During the initial consultation, this client expressed her desire for a HOT PINK VELVET SOFA…which…I MEAN…seals the freakin’ deal right out of the gate. There was no turning back, we were smitten.

We outfitted the living space with a vintage rug and a pair of quirky armchairs. Above the mantel is an original piece of art that ties all of the colors of the room together perfectly. These homeowners are huge art lovers and we enjoyed visiting galleries with them to find the perfect one-of-a-kind pieces to pulse around the home.

In addition to her love of bright colors and luscious velvets, this homeowner had a strong affinity for all things brass. We delivered on her desires by bringing brass in through sculptural light fixtures and custom furniture. It’s everywhere! Did you spot it on the legs

of the entryway cabinet? How about the band on the base of the dining table? Speaking of the dining table, it’s custom and totally expandable! For daily use, it sits 6. However, when entertaining, the table expands to seat twice as many guests comfortably.

The mudroom is adjacent to the kitchen, so we wanted those spaces to coordinate. In both, you will find apricot velvet upholstery (which has all been stain-protected) and matching printed window treatments.

This wouldn’t be a Michelle Gage Interiors project without a healthy dose of wallpaper. We brought in styles that were a mix of sophisticated and playful. In the entryway, we chose a style that screams “British Eccentric” and opted for a moody cloud scene in the downstairs powder room.

The backyard is such a nice retreat for these lovely homeowners. We wanted to keep it simple, giving the space a chic Parisian feel – with a few statements that add an extra bit of special interest (like that amazing mirror).

We were delighted to design an amazing home for such amazing clients and we can’t wait to reveal part 2 next week.

Stay tuned!! xx
